Bumpdate: 33 Weeks

It's Wednesday and time for another bumpdate! It's been fun keeping track of what the pumpkin is doing and seeing the progress that is being made. Not to mention my expanding belly, oof!

This past week since my last update has been quite eventful to say the least. On Wednesday I had actually won an entry to my raceversary race, Seattle Jingle Bell Run/Walk on Sunday thanks to the drawing done by the local website Gametiime. I was so thrilled that I was able to participate in this race, but wasn't sure how I would do since I haven't run in weeks and my belly has really become pronounced and uncomfortable at times. I won't talk too much about it because I have a race recap to write, but all I can say is that it felt AMAZING to run, even for a little bit.

After the race, hubby and I went to get our Christmas tree and start decorating our home. Man, decorating for the holidays is exhausting. We set up the tree, no ornaments are on it yet, but all the other decorations were put up and I was exhausted! Later that night we helped the parents decorate their tree-zilla Christmas tree. Yes, it is considered tree-zilla when the angel on top of the tree just barely clears the 20ft ceiling. Mmhhhhmmm...

Monday was a return to the doctor's office for more tests. Another NST and AFI ultrasound, my reality until the baby is born. The NST was easy! I got hooked up and within 5 minutes the baby and I had "passed" the test, he was so active that the movement count was surpassed that quickly. The lady said I cheated and that she would have to keep me hooked up longer, um...okay. So I was hooked up for another 5 minutes and the pumpkin was still just as active and I had just as many movement counts in the second half as I did in the first. They were pleased to say the least.

Next was my ultrasound to check my amniotic fluid levels and check on the placenta, oh and the baby of course. Listened to the heartbeat, watched the breathing pattern in the lungs, they checked the gender again (they check every time, like it's going to change or something), apparently he has a bit of hair on his head already and then basic viewing of the organs. Pumpkin has helped this mama out and has turned for me, he is now head down instead of breech like he was last week. So that means I get to have his feet in my ribs instead of his head, it will probably feel more comfortable, until he gets into kicking fits. :( The ultrasound tech said that everything looks good, I told her that "it's good to hear things like that" and she said that she looks at bellies everyday so it is a good thing.

My GD is going just fine, still able to control my sugars during the day with diet and exercise and keep my levels low at night with my low dose medication. I would like to be able to reduce the amount of times I have to test, but I doubt that this close to the end they will allow it. I go in again on Thursday to meet with the nurses to review my progress and see if they have any recommendations or if I get to go on with business as usual.

Overall, the appointments went well and everyone is pleased with how everything is progressing. I also had maintained my weight since the last time I was weighed 2 weeks earlier. I call that a success considering Thanksgiving was during that timeframe, so I was pleased with that. Otherwise, the baby has been super active and moving tons, he's moving right now as I type this. I'm getting more and more aware of the fact that I will no longer be pregnant in the very near future and that there will be this little person that is totally and completely reliant upon me to take care of him. The thought of that has tripped me out more times than I can count. A culmination of what I've wanted for years and the fear of it actually happening. It's like I'm in this dream state and I'm scared of what life will be like when I wake from it. Though I'm glad that I will have a partner to help me along the way, my hubby has been amazing through the whole process and I can't wait to see him with the baby, I know he will be an incredible father. The thought of it just warms my heart. :)

That's the update for now. I can't believe we are 7 weeks away from meeting the pumpkin! Where has the time gone! The nursery is no where close to being ready to receive a baby, we've got our work cut out for us over the next few weeks! Time to get organized and set up, baby is coming soon!

    1. I know, right!?! I had made a comment earlier in my pregnancy that the people who said the time goes by quickly are full of it, well, they weren't full of it, they were right!! I can't believe we get to meet the pumpkin next month! CRAZY!!!
