"The Jam" Thursday

I woke up this morning to a blissfully cool home. The clouds had rolled in yesterday and trapped the cool air in overnight. It was so nice I even needed my thicker covers to sleep comfortably. It was also PERFECT running weather. So I donned my running clothes, packed up my work clothes and went to work. I took a nice run along the waterfront with TONS of other runners and came back into work a hot and sweaty mess, but it felt great! I'm liking starting my days like this, I may try to do this more often!

Today is Thursday and we are slowly rolling towards the weekend, it is in my sights and I can't wait! I've got a group of ladies I'll be running with on Saturday, 6 miles are on deck for me. I know the schedule says 9 miles, but I need to ramp up to that mileage! Do you have any fun plans for this weekend? So today is Thursday and it's time for me to share with you another "jam", songs that get my legs pumping and my booty bumping.

Funny story, this song was popular in 2000 and I actually heard it in the grocery store yesterday. I immediately started singing and grooving along with this song...in the produce section. Yeah, I'm a dork. I'd forgotten I had this song on my iPod and dug it back up yesterday to put on my running playlist. I enjoyed this song back then and I still love it now. This was a one hit wonder for this artist and she has lingered around while growing her acting career and not so much in music anymore.

So I present today's "jam":

This is a bit of a strange video and it takes a bit to load, so open and let it sit for a bit to load up and it should run without issue, but I just love jamming to this song. Do any of you remember this artist? She was here and gone in a flash, but again I still hear this song occasionally and really enjoy this song. I hope you'll take a listen and if you like it, add it to your list. Enjoy!

  1. I'm so jealous of your weather. I've been stuck on treadmill workouts.

    1. Oh don't be too jealous, the clouds went away and it's HOT out there. Granted it's not the upper 90's and triple digits other places are experiencing, but it's hot for us.

Also, I'm sorry you have to endure dreadmill workouts. :(

  2. I really do not think I've ever heard of this chick! The song sounds vaguely familiar, but it sounds like it came out when Britany & Christina were popular...so maybe it's just that "sound" that I am recognizing?

I too am super jealous of your cool morning! I tried running the parking lot while Abs was in swim and climbing the stairs, I only made it 11mins in the 2pm heat! I really want to take Brewer for a run but it's still crazy hot. Time to get miles in on the treadmill instead...

    1. I saw that post! Crazy! I bet Brewer is missing the runs...but then again, maybe not, all that black fur cannot be fun to run in. Poor thing!

I'm really liking running in the mornings because it just gets the run done for the day, during the coolest part of the day and I'm ready to attack the rest of my day.

  3. I have been loving the morning coastal fog- makes the run so much easier. But I am concerned that I need to get some heat training in for Dumbo... :/

    1. Oh yes, I do agree. That marine layer is a heaven sent this time of year!

I have been thinking that too, but I figure this. By the time we are running Dumbo in September, the days are shorter and the sun comes up later in the morning. We are also starting the races at ungodly early hours, so we'll be done (hopefully) before it gets too hot.
