Coming Clean

So I have been hinting at a "condition" I have and that there have been issues that it has caused with my running.  I may have alarmed or concerned people with my lack of explanation on what is going on. But I didn't mean to make anyone concerned as it is not life threatening, but rather more life changing.

I've been cryptic because too much information will give it away and I just wasn't ready to talk about it yet. However with the Disneyland Half coming up next week, I am not able to keep this a secret much longer, nor do I think it's necessary to keep it a secret anymore.

So here goes...

Yep...I'm pregnant. So like I said above, it is more of a life changing event, rather than a life or running future threatening issue. I used the word condition in quotations because it's a temporary state that I'm in as this bundle of joy should be arriving at the end of January.

So there.  Whew!  It's out in the open now.

I just knew that once pictures started popping up from Disneyland weekend people would be seeing my "popped" belly and wonder what's up.  No...I haven't gained weight, I've gained a passenger. A little pumpkin.

So I hope I didn't concern anyone, I just wasn't ready to share the news yet until all the family knew and I was a bit further along in the pregnancy. So now you know what's going on with me and I wanted to let you know that I will still be running for as long as my Midwife will let me run. So I will still be chronicling my adventures in running and life, but with a twist. So I hope you are still willing to stay along for the ride because adventures are always better with fellow travelers by your side.  Happy Friday!

    1. Oh yes, I will! I've promised hubby and my midwife that I will be extra special careful when running and not push it. No need to PR when pregnant! Especially the next two weekends where I have multiple races. The belly will be guiding me for sure!

  3. This is totally not what I was expecting with your "condition" but I am so excited for you! A future #teamrundisney baby is on the way! I foresee a running stroller in your future :) Congratulations Lena!

    1. Yes indeed, I was thinking of having a shirt like that made. "Future T#rD runner" with an arrow pointing to my belly. HA!

About the stroller, yeah, not sure about that one. The running strollers are really pricy and I'm not sure about pushing a baby while pushing me when I run. Though that may change down the line. ;)

    2. You definitely should make that shirt! So adorable! Yes I know the strollers are very pricy. My friend bought one that she found on craigslist because she didn't want to pay full price. She was hesitant at first but actually really loves it. You've got plenty of time to decide that though :)

    1. Hahahah...I hope future running buddies! I'm due around January 30th.
The running bit hasn't been too bad for me at all, except the fact that my running clothes no longer fit. :( But I've been honest with my midwife and let her know my plans and if things start to get too difficult, I will stop.
