"The Jam" Thursday - What is blowing up my iPod

It's Thursday and I couldn't be happier!!  It is my Friday and I get a FOUR DAY WEEKEND!!  WOOHOO!!!  I've been super busy lately and working a whole bunch, so getting an extended weekend this week is a much needed break!  Hubby is whisking me away for the weekend and not telling me what we are doing.  It's exciting, so I can't wait for this weekend to begin!

I did get some bummer news from my Chiro last night though.  I told him about my positive experience with running and asked if I could start increasing mileage, and he gave me an emphatic "NO!".  My heart sank.  He has been so pleased with how I am healing he doesn't want me to ramp up too early and risk re-injurying myself.  He said I have to keep it at one mile, with running and walking and we will review my progress next week.  I completely understand this and my logical side agrees, but the part of me that wants to break out and get back to running 6 miles with ease is pissed as hell.

I need to be kind to myself and heal properly, I just see my half coming up on my calendar in 8 weeks and I'm getting nervous.  I also printed the training plan for Dumbo Double Dare in Aug/Sept and the training starts next week!  I know I can probably jump in after a couple more weeks, but I'm neurotic in the fact I want to go according to my training plans.  Maybe I can see about walking the mileage instead of running it, I think I'll ask my doctor about that.

Well today is Thursday and time for me to share my Thursday "jam", the music that gets my booty bumping and my legs pumping.  This song is a newer one that I've been hearing more and more on the radio and I turn it up every time!  I've liked some songs from this group, but never been a huge follower.  This song is just fun and was an automatic add to my running song list.

Today's "jam":

This reminds me of some glam rock anthems at the chorus and that's what I love about it.  It's just so fun.  You can't help but want to sing and rock along.  It's especially good when you're on a run, the beat and hook just give you that oomph you may need.  I love the energy of the song, it's going to be a regular on my playlist for my training runs (well, when I get to run).  :)

I hope you all have a fantastic Thursday and have plans for a wonderful weekend ahead!  Enjoy!

  1. Bummer about the 1M restriction still...but it's smart to continue your healing. Your Thirsday Jam caught me by surprise, I guess I forgot what day it was. And I am SO excited to read about the special getaway!!!

(Haven't listened to song yet, I'm at Abigail's gymnastics class.)

    1. As I was reading your comment I had to check the day to make sure it was indeed Thursday, HA!
I'm bummed about the restriction, but it's teaching me patience. I'm trying my zen pose...not really working. :(

I can't wait to report on the weekends activities! Have fun at Abigail's class! Been loving your pics today!

  2. Already have it on my phone! I downloaded it a day or so after it was released, love it the first time I heard it! It's actually my go-to song the last couple weeks when I really need a pick-me-up when I'm running. Never fails to get me moving!

Have a FANTASTIC weekend away! How exciting that you don't know where you are going! Sorry you have to wait to up your miles, but at least you can do 1 mile! Trying to look at the bright side...

    1. Isn't that such a great song!?! PERFECT for a run, like whoa!

Thank you for looking at (and showing me) the bright side, sometimes we all need that sunshine to be brought to our attention. :)

  3. I love that FOB song! I've been a fan of their's for a long time and was so happy when they got back together. Fingers crossed you get good news at your next chiro appointment! Keep at it slowly and you'll be back out there before you know it. Have a great 4 day weekend!

  4. Have a great weekend- that's so exciting your husband planned the whole thing! I know it's disappointing to have to limit your running, but you'll get back to your 6 miles in no time! :)

  5. Not most of us are aware of what chiropractic can do. But the thing is, you cannot describe the feeling until you experienced it. Some parts of our body can be vulnerable, depending on what kind of activity we are in. Anyway, it's good to hear that you're able to share some of your experiences. But just a reminder: even though this kind of therapy can do good, you should use it in moderation.
