I'm here...I swear!

Wow...I can't believe that it has literally been a month since my last post! How is that possible!?! It doesn't feel like it's been that long. I know I've created posts in my head, dozens of them. Maybe I just didn't get a chance to actually post them. That's probably it.

I'm here though...I swear!!

I haven't left, or abandoned this blog. On the contrary, it has been on my mind. A lot!

The fact that the month that has passed between posts could only mean that that I've been living in a haze and had completely lost track of time. I guess that isn't far off when you think about all the things I'm juggling.

I'm still training (not as much as I like) and I actually have a race on Sunday (which I'm terrified to run)! It's a 10k and a race I haven't run yet! It's the Emerald City Run which used to be the Seattle's Best Dressed 15k and I just LOVE the Wizard of Oz theme. I'm surprised that it has taken this long to have an Oz themed run, considering you know...Seattle is the "Emerald City". I am especially in love with the shirt and medal!

So fun, right!?!

But I'm not going to lie...I'm pretty terrified to run this race on Sunday. Why? Well...lets see. The main reason is that I haven't run this distance since, oh....September. My distances that I've been running lately are 2-3 mile stints. So the idea of running 6.2 miles on Sunday seems daunting to me. I originally signed up for this race to provide a new and hopefully faster 10k time to submit for my upcoming half marathon on August. However now with my lack of work on this distance, I'm not so sure I will have a favorable time. So I've decided to not worry about it, or really try to think about it, I'm just going to go out and have a good time running with a ton of people...dressed like Wizard of Oz characters. This. should. be. interesting. It's also supposed to rain on Sunday, so it's gonna be a wet one for me for sure. Trial by fire...err water, I guess.

So that is what I have coming up and I'll recap it next week. Yeah yeah...I know. I've been TERRIBLE about recapping. Something I'm trying to get better on. But I feel that if I wait too long after the event to recap people are like "why is she talking about that? That was months ago!" Yeah...like I said, head in a haze.

So I'm working on being more present on here. I've been so sporatic and I feel better when I have a chance to share on here about things. I created this outlet for a reason, why am I not using it? I guess I felt bad because since I'm not really training what do I have to talk about? Well, there is more to me and life than training, so I guess I could share that as well. But now that training is DEFINITELY starting to ramp up, watch out! It's gonna start picking up here.

So I know this is a long weekend and people are heading out of town or getting ready for fun times closer to home. Regardless of your plans, have fun and stay safe out there! See you next week!

  1. Good luck on the race Lena! I feel the same way lately, not training BIG right now and busy with other things in life. It leaves little time for blogging. I think it's about quality rather than quantity and I am going to work on not apologizing all the time on my blog for not posting more! I'm enjoying life and living, if I don't get around to blogging it, that's ok! I have a 10K coming up in June and have only gotten back up to 5 miles since the PHM, so I'm a little nervous as well! Have FUN!!

    1. HAhaha...I think I commented to you on a post about quality instead of quantity too. ;) I know you will do great on your race as well. I'm excited to hear how your running is going and if you will be training for something big!
