Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's off to work I go; for another Monday has arrived! How was your weekend? Mine was PACKED full of things going on and going places that I didn't even get to do my normal weekend prep for the next week! I still need to go grocery shopping! Sheesh!
Regardless, I hope you had a great weekend and are feeling refreshed for this new week! Can you believe we are in June already?!? Where is this year going? It's whizzing by so fast! So before this day ends quicker than we expect, let's get to this weeks Momentum Monday.
So lately I have been struggling with my workouts. There are days when I'm so focused and attack the workout as soon as the time comes around. Other days I find any excuse I can to keep myself from my sweat session.
The thing is, I LOVE the feeling of sore muscles. Am I weird in that way? I don't think I'm the only one though. I just love that ache from my muscles being used and worked really well. That good sore feeling from pushing your limits and building new, stronger muscles. It reminds me that I've done something good for myself and to keep on doing it.
I've got less than 3 weeks until my next half marathon and I'm having trouble motivating myself to get my runs in. Not sure why, just having a tough time with motivation to get out the door and pound out the miles. I need to be more prepared for this race, it will be grueling and hilly. I'm not expecting a great time, but that doesn't give me the right to slack off. 13.1 miles is nothing to take lightly and I need to get serious or I could seriously injure myself.
So the next few weeks I'm going to push myself to be more on top of my game, to be sore instead of sorry. To stick to my schedule and get my miles in, whether I feel like it or not! It's gonna be rough, but I'll feel better knowing I'm doing to work and will get to run a great race in the end!
Now it's your turn: Are you weird like me and like the feeling of sore muscles? What do you do to help yourself stay motivated when you are training?
My weekend was packed as well! I'm sure this week will continue in the same way, but it's a good thing. :)
ReplyDeleteSore muscles can be a pain, but they're great validation of the hard work put in during a work out. Your tip jar idea has really been keeping me motivated! I love it!
YAY! I'm glad to hear the tip jar is a good motivator! It's fun seeing the contents multiply!!
