"The Jam" Thursday

I had a terrible nights sleep last night. Why?

Well, I know when a race is coming soon because I start getting nightmares about it. Yeah...I had one last night. Of course it was about the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend (which is in 28 days, FYI!), but it was about the 5K race specifically. Me and one other female (don't know who it was) were standing in this tented area at the finish line of the 5K cheering people onto the finish and talking with them about the race and praising them for doing a great job. Then we both looked at each other and realized that we hadn't raced yet and the 10K was starting soon and we needed to get to that race too! We ran out onto the course and were the last people out there and all I can remember was running frantically, passing cheering crowds and looking down the long straightaway at the beginning of the course and feeling a huge lump in the pit of my stomach....then I woke up.

Oh boy...if these dreams continue on for the rest of the month, I will have run these races more times than I care to in my head! I hope they go away! But the likelihood of that isn't good. :(  Oh well.

Today is Thursday and that means I get to share another "jam" with you. This one is from a DJ and vocalist collaboration that I really enjoyed. I shared another of their songs many months back and wanted to revisit their work and share another great track. I've shared a couple of songs from this vocalist and I really enjoy what she is doing lately and I think she has really found her musical niche.

Without further ado, I present today's "jam":

This song always gets me when it comes over my earbuds. I can't help but feel my spirits lift and get into the groove of the song. It's fun to blare in the car and sing along to as well. I happened to hear it over the radio the other day and was rocking out in my car. Hope you take a listen and enjoy!

Now it's your turn: Do you get nightmares about races? Or am I the only one?

  2. Yep, I've already had them about the Princess and it's months away! Luckily I don't feel too bad when I wake up, I usually laugh at how funny it is that I'm dreaming of running. This means I'm a real runner if I have race dreams! LOL

    1. Too funny! What are your nightmares about? Wait, didn't you blog about that already?

It is a sign your a real runner that is genuinely concerned about the race and it's experience. At least that's what I tell myself. :)

    1. Oh yes, the nightmares! I find I have more about runDisney races than any other race I've ever done. Maybe because it's a destination race? I'm not sure, but I only get multiples of nightmares from RD races.

I love David Guetta too! His stuff is so great to run to and easy to zone out with! Thanks!

  4. I'm so glad bad dreams about races are not uncommon. Not that I think they're a good thing, but just that I'm not the only weirdo having them.

    1. Oh no, you are far from the only one having them. They usually get worse for me the week before the race!

  5. I have nightmares that I forget something (ear phones, fuel belt, camera, etc). I go back to my hotel to get it and by the time I get back to the corrals, everyone has already gone and I can't find the people I was supposed to run with. *sigh* It just makes me more careful about my packing, I guess. :/

    1. Those are helpful then! They help you to remember your ckecklist items! Do you make a packing list? I am a notorious list maker and have had my DDD packing list done for about 4 months now in anticipation for the trip. :) I also have a daily schedule done too...I'm such a planner it's sick sometimes!

  6. I had crazy dreams leading up to the WDWMarathon! The worst was where I finished the race but wasn't sure if they ran out of medals OR if I lost mine, I had no recollection of even getting it (all about the bling!). The best scenario of that day was nothing in comparison to the day itself. Never would I have imagined meeting such amazing new friends and doing the conga across that finish line.

Get all those nerves out now, so all the "worst case scenarios" stay in dreamland and you have magical races.

    1. I agree, get the worst case scenarios out of the way in dreamland and the race will be great! I'm jealous of your marathon experience, you all had a great time and forged some really great friendships. It's amazing to me how runDisney has been a part of making some great friendships of runners all over the country! It still amazes me.
